- MGGS Year 9 2002 Solar Car

Welcome to the official website of Metal Confetti, a Year 9 solar car team for MGGS in 2002.

This Year: We have decided to build a car similar to that of last year's, making subtle alterations to improve speed and reduce resistance. These changes include:

• Constructing a device which joins our two front "trolley" wheels with sheet metal, preventing them from rotating at different angles to each other.
• Making sure our side panels and windbreak do not stick out too much, causing wind resistance. This is helped by the fact that the windbreak need not be so high this year.

History of our team: Our team consisting of Sarah, Laura, Lizzy and Ella have been involved in Solar Car since Year 7 when we entered Roadkill. Roadkill ended up doing well on the cloudy day and coming equal fifth overall, just missing out on the international competition by one race. Jeles (click here for Jeles's website) won all three qualifying races but due to an unforseen steering peg malfunction did not make it past the first knock-out race. However we won equal best poster with fellow Mentone Girls' Grammarians Es-car-go and would have won best website had we not already won best poster.
